Climate Change…

Honestly, I am getting sick of the arguments over climate change. I mean, seriously, whether it’s global warming, or global cooling, we know there is something going on. I know this first hand, when it got cold as all heck when I was in college during what David Letterman called “El Dingo”. I mean I am sorry, but Central Florida is not supposed to be that cold.  Whatever is causing the climate change, the climate change is happening.  Whether natural or man made. Now, I am not authority on the subject, but neither is Al Gore.  I can’t sit here and say what’s happening, or why, because I have no idea, but something is certainly going on, that is for sure.

The Screwy Spot I am in…

I am always reminded as a Geek and a born and raised Catholic who chose to stay Catholic, what a screwy spot I am in. I am A Catholic among atheists. I have nothing against people choosing not to believe the same as I do, but at the same time, when people like Leo Laporte who I have had great respect for say “I’m an atheist” I can’t help but lose some of the respect I have.  Especially with his recommendations of Dawkins books which I believe are full of misconceptions and lies about the church, but to each his own, if you like that sort of thing.

Just like when I discovered Douglas Adams was an atheist, I lost respect, but I still love “”The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series and always will. I always try to separate a person from what they believe. “Hate the sin, not the sinner” .

I do believe, everyone has the right to believe what they chose to believe, to be Liberal, Conservative, whatever denomination, religion or lack there of they chose.

How do I rationalize my science and religion side by side? Simple, I believe God made science possible so that we can have an understanding of the world in which we live. Even the Catholic church has it’s own observatory.  Faith and reason co-exist in my life, and no one can change that. I know what I know and believe what I believe, I have enough proof from my own life experiences for me to believe what I do.

I am Catholic, conservative, and a geek, and those things are not me as a whole, they make up only a small part of who I am.  I will not hide who I am or what I believe for anybody. If you don’t like me, you don’t like me, oh well.

I don’t mean to say, I am right, and if you don’t agree with me you are wrong, no, I could also very well be wrong, but I know what I believe to be true.
