Transmorphers and The Terminators

After seeing that Syfy aired a movie called “The Terminators” which as it turned out,  except for the name, and what it’s about, it has little to nothing really to do with the Terminator franchise we know. I did some research and discovered it was made by a company called The Asylum that is known for making knock offs like for instance the one a friend told me about called “Transmorphers”. People on forums and IMDB are complaining about this company, but they do not sit back and realize, they are just doing what Hollywood has been doing for YEARS. Their movie “The Hitchhiker” for instance is a “rip” or knock off of “The Hitcher”, but step back for a second, “The Hitcher” was itself a knock off or “rip” of a movie called…wait for it….”The Hitcher”. Hollywood calls this a “remake” but it’s the same stinking thing. Or how about their “rip” of the Will Smith movie, yeah the one where he was the last man on earth? It’s been done before, that was a “remake” of another movie.

They’re marketing to people that just grab at a movie that looks familiar on the shelf, as an impulse buy, or thinking they can rent one that is still in the theater. That’s been done too, you know, the Disney knock offs. Oh but a lot of those stories that Disney makes movies about? Disney “ripped” them from books, you know those paper things that have words in them.

To top it off, The Asylum’s knockoffs sometimes get the same poor ratings as the movie they knock off. Think about that one, I wonder if the Alan Quartermain movie is better than the stupid Indiana Jones movie it knocked off, probably is.

Don’t knock a B-movie studio for doing the same thing as Hollywood, if you don’t like it, knock Hollywood.

Eureka that’s a good beer

So I finished off the last three in the box finally. One was really good, the other two, were just ok. The were Black Art Gold, Tucher Helles Hefe-Weizen, and Efes Pilsener. The only one I really cared for was Black Art Gold which like Efes is a Pilsner. I guess I like some Pilsners but not all Pilsners.

I was also watching stuff off of my DVR, like Eureka, which is like my most favorite show right now, though Warehouse 13  takes a close second. A VERY close second.  Eureka is great, take a small town of geniuses, shove a really good cop in there that doesn’t know science, and you have Eureka.

Ghostbusting through the years

Tonight, after quite the weird weekend, including this morning, I just finishsed of War of 1812 Amber and Kronenbourg 1664, both good beers, War of 1812 was especially good, tasted a little familiar.

I am also watching Ghostbusters II that I recorded on the DVR weeks ago. Man, I am looking forward to the new movie regardless of how it turns out, and no I have not gone to see G.I. Joe yet.

The weirdest part of the screwy last couple of days, is this morning, the light above the mirror in my bathroom in my brother’s townhouse fell off the wall, completely random, I was in there, I saw the light go out and heard it fall in the dark this morning. That was a little creepy, it certainly creeped me out. I wonder if I will ever go in there again and wonder if the light will fall. I was near the thing but my hand was on the complete opposite wall, weird. Mini-earthquake?

Batman and Full Sail LTD No 2.

So I am sitting here watching Batman The Brave & The Bold, not bad for a new Batman cartoon. This one Gorilla Grodd traveled into the future and Batman obviously followed.

I just finished off a bottle of Full Sail LTD No. 2. It’s ok, kind of a funky Lager, it was ok, though I don’t quite care for it that much, a little too dry and bitter for my taste, but that’s ok. Obviously I am not going to like everything.

It’s been a weird wee so far but some interesting things came of it, let’s just say I have a new friend who as it turns out is related to some people my family already knows. But that’s not how she found me. We’ll see, at the very least it’s nice to have a new friend anyway.

I’ve also discovered the massive amount of Doctor Who classic episodes on Netflix…hmmmm.

Banks, Coraline, Link and World Market chip shelf

So as I am typing this I am watching the old Legend of Zelda cartoon streamed off of Netflix on my 360. Man I remember this one too!  Though it’s weird, it still has the ending credits of the “Super Mario Bros Super Show ” without any of the show itself.

I also watched Coraline, kind of creepy, but not so scary like I had assumed.

Last night and this morning I put the rest of the beer in the freezer and then in the fridge to get them cold. As of right now all I drank was Banks Caribbean Lager.  Pretty good lager beer, it got a little funky at the bottom of the bottle but not bad at all. Not too strong, not too bitter. I don’t know if it tastes of summer, don’t know what summer tastes like.

I also discovered the chips and dip shelves at World Market I LOVE nachos, I had a bag of World Market blue tortilla chips with Frontera Gourmet Mexican Salsa, the red pepper and garlic flavor, very nice, chunky, maybe could have been a little more stuff in it, but overall not bad.
