Transmorphers and The Terminators
After seeing that Syfy aired a movie called “The Terminators” which as it turned out, except for the name, and what it’s about, it has little to nothing really to do with the Terminator franchise we know. I did some research and discovered it was made by a company called The Asylum that is known for making knock offs like for instance the one a friend told me about called “Transmorphers”. People on forums and IMDB are complaining about this company, but they do not sit back and realize, they are just doing what Hollywood has been doing for YEARS. Their movie “The Hitchhiker” for instance is a “rip” or knock off of “The Hitcher”, but step back for a second, “The Hitcher” was itself a knock off or “rip” of a movie called…wait for it….”The Hitcher”. Hollywood calls this a “remake” but it’s the same stinking thing. Or how about their “rip” of the Will Smith movie, yeah the one where he was the last man on earth? It’s been done before, that was a “remake” of another movie.
They’re marketing to people that just grab at a movie that looks familiar on the shelf, as an impulse buy, or thinking they can rent one that is still in the theater. That’s been done too, you know, the Disney knock offs. Oh but a lot of those stories that Disney makes movies about? Disney “ripped” them from books, you know those paper things that have words in them.
To top it off, The Asylum’s knockoffs sometimes get the same poor ratings as the movie they knock off. Think about that one, I wonder if the Alan Quartermain movie is better than the stupid Indiana Jones movie it knocked off, probably is.
Don’t knock a B-movie studio for doing the same thing as Hollywood, if you don’t like it, knock Hollywood.
