No beer yesterday, didn’t feel like it, today on the other hand, well, I think I could use two. So I pulled out two (not in the dark this time) with foil over the caps, both were brewed in Canada. The first one was Ephemere Apple flavored Ale (apparently they also have Raspberry). You can smell the green apple flavor when you open the bottle, and it’s kind of light, but it has some sweetness to it which is nice. The other one was Blanche De Chambly, the bottle says “White beer on lees”, there is something different about it I can’t quite figure out how to describe, I also quite liked this one too.
I also watched Watchmen, hot dang, some of the violence was a bit much for my taste, but over all pretty darn awesome movie. I needed an escape after some weird crap today. I’m going to run this one back to the Redbox before I forget. I have two other movies to watch this week.

So I pulled a random beer from the box “Kingfisher Premium Lager Beer”. yuck, something odd about the taste of this beer, I don’t taste “Summer” in this at all, someone on LivingSocial described it as dish soap.
I also tried the Vacu Vin Rapid Ice, yeah, sorry it does not make a beer cold in 5 minutes like it claims. It made the bottom of the bottle cold in 10 minutes, but not the beer. The beer might have been better colder, maybe. I don’t know. Going to go back to putting the beer in the freezer for an hour and then in the fridge. Or just leave it in the fridge until it is cold. Whatever.

So I have never been a BIG beer drinker, just here or there, whatever is around, but as you can see I just bought 6 different beers yesterday, well today after remembering that there are some beers that do not have twist off caps, and the stupid thing on the can opener was just too much of a pain, so I went back to World Market to get some things I saw there like a bottle opener and this thing you put in the freezer that claims to cool a beer in 5 minutes (we’ll see about that) called Vacu Vin. Well, I walked out with their “Summer Beers” sampler, that’s 10 more to try out, but I will not do it all at once lol. That’s too many for me to drink at once thank you very much, like I said I am not a big drinker. Heh. I will of course be posting about those beers along with other things as usual.
So I discovered the left side of World Market, the back wall has cases and cases of beer. Also a shelf where you can make your own 6 pack. So I thought hey, why not, so I picked out 6 beers. Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale (which was tempered over burning witches), Harpoon Cider, Abita Purple Haze, Hurricane Reef Caribbean Style Pilsner, Hobgoblin Dark English Ale, and Rogue Mocha Porter.
The Holy Grail Ale was actually pretty good, I mean it’s an ale, not too strong, which for me is a good thing, not sure about strong beers. The Harpoon Cider, eh, well it’s a cider, it was kind of dry and not so sweet, I prefer sweeter ciders. Regarding the Abita Purple Haze, I’m not sure, it’s has a Raspberry taste, but what’s weird is in the beer you don’t really taste it until you get the after taste, I’m not sure about this one might have to try it again. The Hurricane Reef was a bit of a sweet Pilsner, kind of a nice taste to it, it’s a bonus, this beer was brewed here in Florida. It’s nice to support a brewery in my own state. The Hobgoblin I picked up because it reminded me of a Pub I visited in Bath, England that I think had the same name, it’s a dark ale, so it’s a little strong. The Rogue Mocha Porter, yuck, too strong for me, I can’t say much other than that. I was going to say that I haven’t had a beer I didn’t like in the bunch, until the Rogue Mocha Porter, other than that I am not sure if any are my favorites just yet

The other day a coworker said she hated the word “Uber” as much as I hated the word “Webinar” and it got me to thinking about words like that that I do use. Such as “Podcast” or “Podiobook”. Those words are especially strange to me, because podcast comes from “iPod Broadcast” but It is not a broadcast and is not specific to the iPod either. It is not “Portable on Demand” like some people say, that is a storage company. Podiobook comes from podcast and audiobook, audio book obviously comes from audio and book, but is it really a book to begin with? It does come from a book. and “audiocomesfromabook” sounds stupid. Some, like Leo Laporte have tried to use “Netcast”, sorry but that’s stupid, it sounds like someone is going fishing. A single “netcast” is neither a “net” nor a “broadcast” of any kind.
