Janicon & NCYC

by TheGiant on November 29, 2007

I may post a few things today, have some things on my mind that I want to post about.

Earlier this month, I went to what I consider to be my first con, Janicon, an anime con that was held in Jacksonville, Florida. Yeah, that’s REAL close to me (30 minutes give or take a few). It was GREAT regardless of a few issues here and there. Like the badges not showing up, they still owe me $5 for a Ninja badge that was never printed, but from what I hear they still owe some of the guests and bands money. That’s not good at all, but they BETTER have it next year like they are planning, I’ll be upset because I am a Founder, I payed pretty good money so that I won’t ever have to pay again.

The highlight of my weekend as I mentioned to Steve Bennett on his forum, was Sunday night at Steak & Shake with Steve, Doug Smith, Rose, and some other awesome people, yes, I sat at Steak & Shake with some of the convention guests.

Besides that, I also got to hang with some cool folks from DFP Radio, as well as Peelander-Z, andThe Notorious MSG.

I didn’t attend very many panels, because I was having too much fun hanging out and going to the main event room.

Now, imagine if you will, 20,000+ people in Columbus, Ohio clapping or saying “Amen” simultaneously. That was NCYC, the National Catholic Youth Conference. That was also very cool, great speakers and bands. It was quite the awesome thing. Our hotel was directly across the street from the convention center, and right down the street from the arena. I did even get lost once with Wolf Ears who was also at Janicon, but her sense of direction helped a lot. :)

While I was there, I met Kyle from Popple. Dude seriously, how is it that I am always meeting so many cool people?
