Get out of Town

I swear, with all this mess going on, I just want to get out of dodge. If I could afford it maybe I’d just go to Hawaii. It may be a lot hotter, but it sure as heck would be a lot more fun than Florida, or at least better than my own job. All the beaches and everything there, man, just typing that made me really want to go, I am so obsessing about it now, I am not kidding. A trip to Hawaii would sure be a lot of fun!

Man, now if I could meet someone, not that I am anxious to date again, but who knows, maybe there’s a Maui Weding in the future, yeah, don’t I wish!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH

I know I am supposed to not be negative, and not call anyone stupid. But still, my mom is mass mailing these recruting emails through our website, and these people are asking to be removed, the thing is, they can do it on their own, but they are too ingnorant and stupid and blind to see a link that says REMOVE!!! So now she is getting this mass amount of emails and of course she’s forwarding them to me, ARGH, what a waste of time, just because people are stupid, blind and they don’t see what’s right in front of their face.

The Ultimate online Wish List

I just found this great online gift registry called WishBin. It’s an online wish list creator essentially you can have one single wish list instead of like umpteen wishlists at different sites. They’ve even parnered with some sites so all you have to do is copy and paste the URL from the site, some of my favorites are their partners too, Amazon., BestBuy, heck even ThinkGeek!

They do support all retail websites however, so if one is not listed on their partners page, it doesn’t mean it will not work. To give you an idea how this thing works, I’ve created a wishlist of my own just so you can see what it looks like. I am totally all for this thing, from now on all my wishlists will be there instead of all over the Internet!

Ugh…time for a hard drive wipe

This time though I am planning ahead, my My Docs folder at work will be an exact duplicate of the one at home (for the most part). Everything is messed up at home, iTunes and Firefox take too long to load, sometimes iTunes freezes up (that’s normal for iTunes), now it’s so bad now though that I can’t sync up my iPod or anything. It’s really nerve racking, the only way to really fix this is to wipe and reinstall again. I can’t lose anything though, I’ve got multiple backups now. This is just frustrating though. I will get it started tonight after Emmaus and work on it more tomorrow night after Ben’s Place. Ugh, computers what can you do.

Birthday

Yes that’s right, tomorrow is my birthday. Big deal really, just another year, but I like getting gifts, I can’t lie, I like getting and giving, I like giving better, but it’s fun to get too, especially if it’s something I wanted that now I don’t have to pay for!

Tonight apparently there will be cake at the prayer meeting, even though we already celebrated the December birthdays and it WAS Joe’s birthday and he didn’t even try to blow out the candles. To be honest, I know my mom just wants to celebrate, but doing it again just makes me feel bad.

Swap your gift cards this year!

I found a website recently that I am totally digging the idea. Imagine turning the gift cards you get for birthdays and holidays into cash, or swapping them for ones you would rather have. Or even just buying them cheaper! The site is called Swapagift.com. Think of the possibilities!

The holidays are just around the corner, and I know we will all get gift cards, no question about that. For me it counts double, since my birthday is also this month, in fact it’s actually tomorrow, but this post is not about my birthday.

Now just imagine if you will, my brother gives me a gift card for Wal-Mart or Target, but I would rather have an AMC Theatres card. I can do that easily, in fact right now I just did a search, and there’s someone willing to swap their $25 AMC card for a Wal-Mart or Target card, easy.

Say I wanted cash; I could just sell my Wal-Mart or Target card to Swapagift.com for 70% of the card value, that’s not bad really, I would happily accept 70% if the value of the card so I could use the money somewhere else. The percentage does depend on the card however, it only goes as low as 60%, the ones they accept are listed on their website, if there’s one not listed, you can email them and ask, and they might accept it anyway.

Heck if I just wanted to straight up buy several different cards without driving to all the stores, this certainly makes that easier too, no question I just might swap some cards this year. This site is worth taking a look!

Heroes, Villans and Identity

Did you know that in Latin the root word for Identical, is Identity? According to Dictionary.com an Identity is “the state or fact of remaining the same one or ones, as under varying aspects or conditions”. The fingerprints on the gun, are the same as the ones on file, the thing is the same as itself. That’s what our speaker the other night at Emmaus told us. Dr. Vincent Zamoyta said that the word identical doesn’t mean that two things are the same, it means like I said, the thing is the same as itself. TheGiant is the same as lonelygiant, lonelygiant is the same as Matt.

However often times how someone is seen is merely a matter of perspective. To a Transformer, a Transformer is not big, but to a human they are massive. To Godzilla a smaller monster is nothing, to a human they are massive. On the TV show Heroes everyone that has powers are heroes, however one of them is really a villan, because he is trying to kill all of the other heroes. Today I watched a rerun episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Captain Sisko was on the hunt for a Star Fleet officer turned Maquis named Bennington, who believed he was some kind of hero, once Sisko realized that he became the villan, in the end, but the villan won, he was really the hero, or was he? It’s all a matter of perspective.

Someone’s warm weather is someone else’s cold weather.

Science says people are less functional off of less sleep, really, I just typed that after a one hour workout session with my personal trainer and some time spent watching TV (Thank God for DVRs), and that was off of three hours sleep.

Organization

This morning I was reminded, that I just have no time to get everything up here organized, between my mom and this woman she hired that comes every other Friday, when I take something out and leave it on my desk until I figure out where to put it, either of the two of them come through, and things get moved to random places and sometimes never to be found again. You could say, “Why don’t you ask?” I do, and they don’t remember, mom says “I think I might have seen that somewhere”.

Something I should have renewed

Continuing from the post of things I wish I found sooner. I recieved an email today about a media player plugin and standalone app called SoftSkies from SoundSpectrum the same makers of the G-Force plugin I used to use. I had let my G-Force Gold licenese lapse, because I just haven’t used it. However, they offered me to renew it at a discount, and upgrade to a Platinum license. What’s really cool is there’s a standalone version…TADA, I can use it with Live365′s Radio365 player then!

This post was still a draft from late yesterday (it’s after midnight here) that plan isn’t working apparently it only works on input to the soundcard, meaning I would have to get another card and run the output from one to the input of the other and work off of that. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh. That’s the same way some people record Skype conversations, that allows both sides of the conversation to be heard.
